Strength:

Best academic record of the teachers and meritorious students. Introduced add on courses based on students need like Financial Market. The blessed limits of Shivdare College boasts of 2 Assistant Professors of the Economic department, namely the Dr..Kamble Mahadev Baburao and other is Dr. Anita  Layappa Birajdar who are very enthusiastic and dedicated that belie their young age. They take Tutorial, Class test to improve the overall performance of the students and hold extensive interactions with the students through Guardians-Teachers Meetings, Educational/Industrial Tours, and Special Lectures and so on. Moreover, there exists homely atmosphere and intimate relationship between teachers and students. The Economics faculty enjoys a commendable good naturedness with the faculty of other departments. For example, the Economics Department, Dr, Birajdar A. L organizes Poster presentation, Quiz, and Elocution and Rangoli competition along with Commerce department.

Weakness

No separate Departmental infrastructure. Need to guide students towards research and entrepreneurship. Most of the students come from poor and backward family and thereby cannot attend classes regularly as they are to provide economic support to their family.

Opportunities:

Economics is the Evergreen subject which has high demand at both the national and universal because it’s utility in our day-to-day life. The economics field is very much  interesting which offers a variety of subjects in it career options in Economist, financial risk analyst, accountant, investment analyst, financial consultant, data Analyst and more. However, the learners are always made aware of the wide scope for their future. Efforts are on to enhance the quality of the students by giving them opportunities of interaction with the senior faculty members of other related institutions or Seminars by means of special classes.

Challenges:

To create awareness about research in economics among the students and to improve the communication skills in English. The economic prosperity of this great country depends on the academic brilliance of the Economics graduates mix out by Economic departments of nation-wide colleges. The main challenge is to enhance the skill potential of the students in classes as well as to create awareness about the huge employable as well as entrepreneurial potential of Economics graduates in big metropolis or elsewhere.
